I’ve been using Facebook’s Movies appliication to review some of the Movies I have seen lately, I think I am gonna post some of the review here, and make it more public. Also this is the first post that uses Eeekfun’s semantics to share products recommendations .

3:10 To Yuma Rating:   I liked the overall of the movie, I pretty much hate western genre, but this one was a fine movie. The movie owns a lot to the cast with very convincing performances from Bale and Crowe, some people say that they were minimalistic but I think is part of the movie and maybe the intention of the director, making the both character very enigmatic. It was also fun to see Tudyk again. This is not a movie for everyone tough, but I would recommend it.

Angel-A Rating:   Well this is a excellent movie but not perfect. I liked the cinematography, the performance of the actors (and well, Rie Rasmussen is just gorgeous). The story is also good but I think it could be more deep and the dialogue more elaborated, altough it is a beautiful film, some of the conversations are rather simplistic. This is a movie with great message, totally recommended

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street Rating:   I really hate musicals, but this is the exception, I think is because the respect I feel for the work of Tim Burton. I liked the grim atmosphere of the film, and of course the performance of the Burton’s favorites Bonham Carter and Depp. But it was a Musical after all and it broke my nerves a lot of times. Overall I like the film, I did not like the end, it’s a good work but at least for me, it is not one of the best films from this great director.

 Hierro-3, extraña película y tal vez la única que he visto donde los protagonistas no hablan. (Salvo en las películas de cine mudo, pero este no es el caso). Hierro-3 es una película Coreana dirigida por Kim Ki-duk. Nunca había visto una filme de este director, pero ya había sido introducido al cine Coreano gracias a la obra maestra de Park Chan-wook: Oldboy.

 Volviendo a la película, esta me pareció muy bien filmada, con una buena fotografía (aunque sin sorprender) como dirían los entendidos. Sin tener diálogos extensos o filosóficos 3-Iron (el nombre en inglés) explora muy bien los personajes pero deja a la interpretación del espectador el enigmático comportamiento de los protagonistas.Al principio la película es muy callada, dado que se centra la relación entre Tae-suk y Sun-hwa, marcada por la ausencia de palabras entre ellos, pero llena de actos significativos, actos que incluso en la “vida real” son finalmente los que definen una relación. Me gusto mucho como esas acciones llevadas a cabo por los personajes modificaban de alguna manera el entorno, creando una representación visual de lo que los personajes querían expresar. Escenas como la fotografía partida de Sun-hwa en las dos ocasiones, la balanza, la pelota de golf amarrada, no son mas que metáforas creadas con la intención de darle a los personajes una vía de escape y permitirles gritar con todas la fuerza los pensamientos que por alguna razón desconocida son incapaces o sencillamente no desean expresar.

 No quiero profundizar en la película, lo cual se me tornaría difícil dado el contenido más bien visual de la misma (aunque para nada aburrido). Creo que describir a cabalidad esta cinta es dificil y la única manera en cual podemos degustar esta trama es viendo, perdón, más bien observando esta historia magistralmente plasmada por Kim-duk. Totalmente recomendada.

Notas (vagamente personales) sobre la película

• Volverse un fantasma, no ser sentido. Buena estrategia.
• ¿Que soy yo sin ti?
• Retribución ante todo retribución.
